HOSPITALAR SUSTAINABILITY

Hospitalar connects the healthcare sector with sustainability!

As an event that has connected people for over 30 years, we understand the weight and importance of the impact we create in the world. In this context, we are leaders in various actions aimed at promoting social responsibility.

We are committed to ensuring that Hospitalar has a positive impact on people and the planet. We want to play a key role in helping the entire healthcare community improve its own sustainability by connecting people with the networks and knowledge they need to help address the major challenges of the future.

As part of our commitment, we are focused on three pillars of sustainability:

1. Inspiring sustainability

Incorporate sustainability into our brand by 2025 to inspire our sector to be more sustainable, promoting the achievement of the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, at all ages.

Ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Ensure reliable, sustainable, modern, and affordable access to energy for all.

Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

Ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns.

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

Sustainable Path for Hospitalar

We provided free transportation from strategic points in São Paulo, such as: Santos-Imigrantes station, Plaza Sul Shopping parking lot, and Congonhas Airport, or the public could organize their own van or bus caravan, and use the Express Route, a path with exclusive access and greater efficiency in boarding and disembarking for all visitors.

Better Stands is a program by Informa Markets, the organizer of Hospitalar, aimed at achieving zero waste in stands by 2030. The initiative seeks to encourage exhibiting companies to move away from using disposable (single-use) stands and prioritize the use of reusable structures.

By making their stand projects sustainable, builders and exhibitors will be recognized with Bronze, Silver, and Gold seals at their stands during Hospitalar, and after the event, they will receive a digital certificate based on their respective levels of progress.

We want to have a positive impact on our local community, and in our 2024 edition, we had the opportunity to make a social impact through support for institutions such as:

  • Doctors Without Borders
  • Jô Clemente Institute
  • Soul Alegría

Hospitalar expresses solidarity and does its part to help during this difficult time.

The Hospitalar Fair, in collaboration with the Mixed Parliamentary Front in Defense of Health Services, led by Federal Deputy Pedro Westhalen, and the main institutions in the sector, launched a solidarity campaign to support hospitals and health services affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Called 'Care and Rebuild: Health Sector Mobilization for RS,' the campaign aims to collect donations of supplies, equipment, and hospital furniture.

In addition to the campaign, part of the proceeds from the sale of tickets for the 2024 edition were donated to the flood victims. We also supported various solidarity initiatives in the sector.

At Hospitalar 2024, we had several initiatives that contributed to the sustainability of the planet, the sector, and the care of our audience. Let's take a look at some of them:

  • Totems exclusively focused on sustainability;
  • 80% of the carpet is reused, and only 20% is new;
  • An app with access to content and maps, reducing paper waste;
  • Ambulances available 24/7;
  • Constant maintenance of the carpets to prevent accidents.

How to help encourage and improve sustainability at Hospitalar?

As a visitor

  • Consider how you will get to the event and whether you can avoid flights or use low carbon footprint transportation, such as public transport, free shuttles, or carpooling;
  • Recycle your waste on-site and at your hotel, whenever possible;
  • Support our charity partners: Doctors Without Borders, Jô Clemente Institute, and Soul Alegría;
  • Consider opting for vegetarian and vegan food options and avoid food waste;
  • Take only the gifts or brochures you truly need and will use, and consider if there are digital alternatives;
  • Consider the environmental credentials of the hotel when deciding where to stay. Meet Hospitalar's official travel agency: [email protected].
