In January 2018, Patricia joined Optum Brazil, a company of UnitedHealth Group, as Country Manager.

She is a former Partner at McKinsey & Company in São Paulo where she worked for 18 years leading Social and Public sector in Brazil. She has worked with governments, non-profit organizations, thinks tanks and private sector enterprises in cities planning, education, healthcare, economic development and digital innovation.

Patricia lectures Adaptive Leadership and Digital Innovation in a Master in Public Administration at Center for Public Leadership (partnership with Harvard Kennedy School). Her latest lines of research are citizen-centric management, ageing and digitization (mainly IoT - Internet of Things). She is especially interested in understanding how these trends will affect healthcare services, future of jobs, inequality and quality of life in cities.

She is also member and co-founder of Movimento Agora, member of the Brazilian Council of Economic and Social Development, board member and founder of Real Parque unit - NGO focused on teaching English to underprivileged children and teenagers (São Paulo).

She is Brazilian, born in São Paulo, and has a Master Degree in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School (2013 MC-MPA), a MBA degree from Insead (2005) and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from USP (2000).

She has recently led the National IoT plan, published last month by the Brazilian National Development Bank and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Healthcare transformation plan for Brazil, published in 2017 by the Healthcare Coalition Institute. Patricia Ellen has been nominated as one of the 121 Young Global Leaders 2016 by the World Economic Forum for contributions to education, economic development and digital innovation in government.
