Hospital receives US$ 2.4 million for expansion works
The Cassems Hospital, located in Dourados, in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul (Midwestern area of the country), will be reopened with new surgical center and equipment.
The total investment was of US$ 2.4 million. Around US$ 1.5 million were used to expand the hospital, whose area increased from 2,100 sqm to 3,480 sqm, and will now feature four more surgical rooms, a new delivery room and twice the number of hospital beds, as well as an advanced ICU. As for the remaining US$ 900 thousand of the budget, they were used for purchasing cardiology equipment.
With the expansion, 300 surgeries are expected to be performed on a monthly basis, besides 50 hospitalizations, 40 deliveries and around 450 hospital admissions in apartments and infirmary wards. |
