Hospitalar’s opening ceremony confirmed
the health sector’s good moment in Brazil

Hospitalar’s opening ceremony, which took place on June 2nd, was held in a climate of optimism due to the good moment that the healthcare sector is currently going through in Brazil. Accompanying the President and founder of Hospitalar, Waleska Santos, MD, were the Minister of Health, José Gomes Temporão and the Secretary of Health of the State of São Paulo, Luiz Roberto Barradas Barata, amongst other political and sector authorities.

During her speech, the President Waleska Santos, MD, stated that even in times of crisis such as the one we are facing now, both the health sector and Hospitalar give a clear demonstration of vitality. “This is the largest edition of Hospitalar, with 1,200 exhibitors from 32 countries, fully occupying the Expo Center Norte exhibition halls. That is a vigorous response of our industry and the whole health sector, and reaffirms the idea that Brazil will come out stronger and in a better position in the post-crisis scenario, which already begins to appear on the horizon”, she affirmed.

The Secretary of Health of the State of São Paulo, Luiz Roberto Barradas Barata, highlighted that he has participated in the opening of the fair for 10 years, and he gets more impressed every year with the growth of both the event and the health sector. “Hospitalar represents the sector’s advances. It is a great moment for exchanging experiences and getting to know new technologies and equipment - always aiming at a good management in healthcare.”

Closing the ceremony, the Minister of Health José Gomes Temporão highlighted the positive numbers of the health sector, such as the public and private hospitals investments in renovation and expansion and the investments that multinational companies of the health sector are making in the country. “Hospitalar reflects this positive scenario. I am glad to see that the fair has grown and expanded, while the international crisis would indicate otherwise."
