Strong international action reaffirms leadership
of Couromoda/Hospitalar Group’s trade fairs
Restating its position as international reference for business
in shoes, health and beauty markets, the Couromoda Group is investing strongly
in its fairs’ promotion, participating in eight grand events in Europe and
Latin America.
Leading fairs promoter in each of their sectors – Couromoda (shoes), Hospitalar
(health) and Hair Brasil (beauty) – the Couromoda Group has always invested
in the internationalization of its events, seeking for exhibitors and visitors
in the most important world markets.
Couromoda
Group’s international trade manager, Katherine Shibata, explains that participating
in grand fairs has always been one of the pillars of the promotion of Brazilian
fairs to the whole world. “This year, we are enlarging this program even
more, participating in new events, so that it may follow the evolution of our
exhibitors’ exportation, as well as attract great potential buyers.”
HOSPITALAR
Hospitalar – International Fair of Products, Equipment, Services and Technology
for Hospitals, Laboratories, Pharmacies, Clinics and Medical Offices is the most
international event of Couromoda Group. The foreign exhibitors already represent
36% of the event, and the visitors come from over 70 countries.
The fair is leader in Latin America and the second largest in the world. To reaffirm
this position, Hospitalar team is preparing to participate in two grand health
events in the second semester: ExpoMedical (September 11th to 13th, in Buenos
Aires, Argentina) and MEDICA (November 19th to 22nd, in Düsseldorf, Germany).
In the Argentinean fair, Katherine Shibata highlights that the focus lies on
the promotion of Hospitalar to Latin American buyers, stimulating the visit to
the Brazilian fair. “Over 60% of Hospitalar’s international visitors
are from Latin America, but we know that there is still a large public to be explored
in this market that is clearly in expansion and with great investments in the
health sector.”
As for MEDICA, the largest healthcare fair in the world and of which Hospitalar
is a traditional partner and exhibitor, the team will focus on promoting the fair
to entrepreneurs of countries which hold high technology in products and medical
equipment. “Hospitalar is already consolidated as an international and globalized
fair. Last edition, held in June, we had 440 foreign companies, representing 33
countries. But we still may grow even more in this high technology sector, bringing
the best of healthcare in the world to be shown at the fair.”
The manager also highlights that the Arab market is one of the focuses of Hospitalar
promotion, aiming to attract buyers with high consuming potential. Shibata reminds
that MEDICA will stage the world launch of the 36th World Hospital Congress –
IHF Rio 2009, official event of International Hospital Federation (IHF), which
will be held from November 10th to 12th, 2009, in Rio de Janeiro, organized by
the Brazilian Health Confederation (CNS) and Hospitalar.
Hospitalar 2009 will be held from June 2nd to 5th, in Expo Center Norte, in
São Paulo. Additional information: www.hospitalar.com

Katherine Shibata highlights that the goal is to attract the interest of even
more international buyers to the Brazilian fair. “Couromoda already receives
buyers from 70 countries. But we are focusing mainly on organizations of buyers
that act with products of medium-high prices and fashion collections, a sector
where Brazil has grand manufacturers.” Another goal, according to Shibata,
is to bring major global brands to the fair and stimulate partnership with Brazilian
industries. “These actions are similar to the ones made by Skechers, an
American brand that started to operate in Brazil through a joint-venture with
Paquetá Group”, she highlighted.
Couromoda 2009 will take place from January 12th to 15th, 2009, in Anhembi,
São Paulo. Additional information: www.couromoda.com

International Beauty, Hair and Esthetics Fair participate in three grand international
events: Cosmesur Beautyworld (September 13th to 15th in Buenos Aires, Argentina);

and Salón Look International (October 17th to 19th in Madrid, Spain).

Katherine Shibata stresses that the goal of these actions is to attract both
international buyers and exhibitors, taking into consideration the great potential
of the beauty market. “This sector has been growing in Brazil at the average
rate of 20% a year. It is a large universe yet to be explored and this catches
the eye of this sector’s entrepreneurs.”
As for the exhibitors, Shibata highlighted that the focus lies on companies with
innovative beauty and cosmetics products and big volume lines. “We want
to stimulate these companies to set up production unities in Brazil, showing that
the country is the major entry for the giant Latin American market”, she
said.
When it comes to the relationship with international buyers, the manager points
out that the Brazilian industry has been widely responsible for launching trends
and products made with raw-material from Amazonia, what attracts the attention
of foreigners. “These products have a large demand and lead our country
to being in evidence to the rest of the world.”
Hair Brasil’s eighth edition takes place from March 28th to 31st, 2009,
in Expo Center Norte, São Paulo. Additional information: www.hairbrasil.com
